Worroora Station

Last Updated on 9 February 2026 by Rob

Worroora Station is a perfectly positioned stopover for those navigating the road to Exmouth or heading into Coral Bay. Its proximity to the Ningaloo Reef makes it an ideal launchpad, giving you the chance to secure your site early and spend more of your day exploring the coastline rather than behind the wheel. For travellers looking for a genuine station stay that doesn’t compromise on convenience, it’s a practical spot to regroup before diving into the wonders of the Gascoyne.

Campground Layout and Features

The campground has about 35 well-spaced and marked sites. In addition, there is an open area called the Euro Area.

The sites are distributed over an area with shrubbery. Some sites are more private than others. If there is a group of you, the area called Perentie Corner fits the bill perfectly.

At the site there are toilets and showers. They are the donga type, and to be honest, a bit run-down. However, during our stay, a new amenities block was being built. This is one of several upgrades planned for this site.

There is a dump point at this site, and rubbish bins are provided. At the campground, there is only borewater, which is quite salty.

If you wish to have a fire, you must bring your own wood.

The fee to stay at this site is $17 per person per night. You can book your stay online.

Worroora Station Location

The turnoff to the station is 25.5km north of the North West Coast Highway – Exmouth Road intersection. You must pass the Lyndon River West Rest Area before turning. Google Maps may tell you to turn just before the rest area. The turnoff is at the top of a small hill. From the turnoff, the station is 23km on a well-maintained unsealed Road.

The map below shows the campground’s location. You can zoom out for a more general location.

What to Watch Out For at Worroora Station Campground

There isn’t much shade at this site.

The site is a bit exposed, so in windy conditions, it may not be comfortable. During our visit, it was calm in the morning, and the wind picked up in the afternoon. We hit the beaches in the morning and sheltered in the afternoons.

Final Words

This site is perfect for exploring the coast. There are many secluded beaches to explore. You will need to reduce your tyre pressure as some of the sand is quite soft.

We met up with family at this site and stayed for a week.

Closeby Campgrounds

For those heading south to Perth, you may like to stay at Galena Bridge Rest Area.
