Warooka Camping Ground is located next to the Warooka Oval in the town of Warooka. The campground is a good place to base yourself to explore the area. It provides a good alternative should the nearby caravan park at Point Turton be full. It is also a good place to stay if you wish to explore Yorketown and the surrounding salt lakes.
Sealed roads provide easy access to Warooka. The town has a small supermarket and a butcher. Of course, there is a pub as well. There are many old buildings to explore
Camping in caravans and tents is allowed. Toilet facilities are provided.
To the north of the town are popular beaches such as Flaherty Beach (5.5km). Also north is Point Turton (8km). To the east is Yorktown (20km), from where you can explore the famous pink lakes surrounding the town (see photo at end of article). After staying in the caravan park in Yorketown, I recommend staying at Warooka and driving to Yorktown.

Campground Layout and Features
The Warooka Progress Association operates the campground. Proceeds from the camping fees are used for maintenance and improving facilities in the town. Camping costs $10 per night. People not staying in the campground may use the dump point for $5. Drinking water is also supplied via a tap connected to the toilet building. Never use a tap provided next to a dump point. Rubbish bins are also provided.

The fees are paid via a provided envelope to be placed in a strong box near the toilet, dump point and water tap. The fee may also be transferred to the association’s bank account (Acc name: Warooka Progress Association, BSB: 105064, Acc No: 029066140).
The campground is located in an open area to one side of the football oval. The site has a stated maximum of 20 sites, and has a two-day maximum stay. The site is relatively flat, but you may need to use leveling ramps depending on where to camp. If it looks like it will be busy, you may want to consider placing your van at 90 degrees to the fence.
No fires are permitted at this site. Pets are allowed but must be controlled.

This is a good, clean site with good facilities. The only potential negative is the two-night limit.
Final Words
This is a good place to base yourself while exploring the area. If you are heading to the Innes National Park it is a great place to fill up on water and empty the demons.
While in the area, ensure you visit the nearby beaches and the pink lakes around Yorketown. The photo below is one of the lakes you will find on the Yorke Peninsula Salt Lake Trail.

Good Evening,
This is a note to ask you could we have a small generator going at night times as we are not self-sufficient, we would be staying 2 nights and would be travelling through the day. Willing to pay a bit extra for generator. My Email address is xxxxx@westnet.com.au and my mobile is xxxxxxxx. If you could let me know soon that would be great.
Yours Faithfully
Nolene xxxxx. From Crystal Brook, S.A
Hi Nolene,
we do not run the campsites that we provide information about. My suggestion is to contact the local council. Although it is standard practice to not run generators all night. The reason is that you will disturb other campers around you. Generators are not appreciated by other campers these days.
