Campground Layout and Features
The campsites are mostly on an open area of grass. There are some camping amongst the trees. The sites are unmarked and there is enough space for more than 25 vans.
The sites are mostly flat, but there are some undulations, so pick your spot carefully. We found that some of the sites are a bit awkward to get into, as the access is partially blocked by vegetation.
As previously mentioned, a toilet is provided at the clubhouse. Potable water is also available.
The clubhouse is open from 4pm, and they do meals on some nights.
Camp fees are paid via a registration booth at the front of the clubhouse. Complete your details and display the form on your van.
There is a 7 day maximum stay.

What to Watch Out For at Strahan Golf Club Campground
As Strahan is located on the west coast of Tasmania it receives a lot of rain. This site may become boggy in very wet conditions.
During peak times the site is very busy and it can get fairly cramped. Like all low-cost or free campsites in Tasmania you should try to arrive early. Before lunch is advisable.
Final Words
We enjoyed our stay at this campsite and recommend it for your stay in Strahan.
We stayed 7 nights at this fantastic location. was a bit wet, but a great camp with fresh water available and a dump station nearby. It was disappointing to find out while we were at this camp a good many campers did not pay.
They are probably the same people who complain about such facilities closing down. Thanks for your comment.
