Antechamber Bay Campground is located on Kangaroo Island in the Lashmat Conservation Park. It is a great place to stay to explore the Dudley Peninsula and the nearby Antechamber Bay and Chapman River. It is conveniently located between Antechamber Bay and Chapman River.
Activities in the area include swimming, bird watching, bush walking, walking on the beach and kayaking on the Chapman River. It is possible to explore the Dudley Peninsular from this location. One day is enough to complete a loop around the peninsula.
The campground is accessed from Penneshaw via a partially sealed road. The remaining road is unsealed, which is well maintained. The campground is accessible with a 2WD. If arriving from the south, the road is also unsealed.
Toilets are provided at the campground, and all water discharge must be contained.
Pets are not allowed at this campground.
You must book this campground on the National Parks and Wildlife Service’s website (a link is below). The maximum number of people per site is 8.

Campground Layout and Features
Antechamber Bay Campground contains ten sites of various sizes. Some sites are suitable for caravans, and some are not. The smaller sites are only suitable for tents or camper trailers. The majority of the sites are large enough for a small caravan. A few are large enough for a medium to large caravan. For caravans, consider sites 8, 9 and 10. The booking page provides the site sizes. The map below shows the location of the campsites.

Fire pits are provided for use outside of periods with fire restrictions. They are shared between sites rather than one per site. Only gas stoves may be used for cooking during the summer months.
Flush toilets are provided at this campground. We found them to be clean and equipped with toilet paper.
On the south side of the Chapman River, another campsite is available. This campsite is called Chapman River Campsite and can be accessed from Antechamber Bay Campground via a footbridge.
Antechamber Bay Campground Location

Final Words
We recommend this campground. We arrived on Kangaroo Island on a late ferry and stayed for two nights. It is an easy drive from Penneshaw. We booked two nights to allow us to explore the Dudley Peninsula before heading further west on KI.
