Top of the World Campsite is a small free camp next to the Durack River. It is a good place to spend a night while travelling the Gibb River Road.
To stay at this campground you need to be self-sufficient, as there are no toilets or showers.
Pets are permitted at this campground.
Tents are permitted.
Fires are permitted.

Campground Layout and Features
The campground has seven or eight campsites. The sites are on sandy ground, they may be a bit dusty.
There are no facilities at this site. You must remove everything that you bring with you.
This is a free camp that has an abundance of birdlife.
Top of the Word Campsite Location
The campground is on the north side of Gibb River Road and to the east of the Durack River. As you approach, look for a truck stop on the south side. The track into the site is on the opposite side of the road. The track continues for a little over 1km from the road.

What to Watch Out For at Top of the Word Campsite
Other than it being a little dusty we do not experience any issues at this site.
You will need to mindful of crocodiles.
Final Words
We enjoyed our one night stay at this camp.
While it is not an overnight stay in our comprehensive Gibb River itinerary, you could stay here if you are not in a rush.

For those heading east on Gibb River Road, you may like to stay at Pentecost River Free Camp, or for a full-service campground, you could consider Home Valley Station or El Equestro.
If you are travelling west make sure you stop at Gibb River Campground.
