Campground Layout and Features

Woody Head Campground has 94 sites of varying sizes. Sites are sized for tents, camper trailers or caravans. Each site has a mesh pad or is grassed. While they appear to be flat, some are not, and you may need to level your camper trailer or caravan. Sites that do not have mesh pads are made of nicely mowed grass.

All sites are unpowered. There is a water tap for each site and sullage on the caravan sites. Water taps are available for sites that do not have a dedicated tap.

Most sites have at least adequate sun for solar. Some sites are shaded more than others. The sites on the eastern side have more shade in the morning.

Many of the sites have their own firepits, and communal firepits are dotted around the area. However, most of the caravan sites lack them.

Hot showers are available in the amenity block. They cost $1 for four minutes.

Rubbish and recycling bins are provided near the entrance of the campground.

The site has a dump point near the waste disposal bins.

A site costs $34.85 per night for up to 6 people, with a maximum stay of seven days.

For those not wanting to camp, huts are available.

What to Watch Out For at Woody Head Campground

The stated check-in time is 2PM. We arrived a little too early and were told to wait until the site was ready. We were able to move onto the site a little after midday.

There is plenty of wildlife in the area. If you leave it out, the birds will try to get a meal from your rubbish. The kangaroos are very tame, and it takes a lot to get them to move on. We were sitting at the fire one night and something next to my head moved. It was a kangaroo’s head about 30cm from mine!

Final Words

We enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.
