Road Kill Campground is located a little off the Newell Highway a short 7km drive south-west of the town of Forbes. It provides a good place for a rest stop.
The name of this campground comes from the nearby Road Kill scuplture by Jimmy Rix. The sculpure is part of the Sculpture Down the Lachlan trail.

The campground is a small gravel area about 300m from the Newell Hwy. This is just far enough to reduce the noise considerably.
There are no provided facilities so you will need to be self reliant and self contained.
Pets are permitted at this site.

Campground Layout and Features
This is a basic site which is really only suitable for a stop over as you are travelling through. The area is basically a turning circle on which there are two or three possible sites. Just pull to the side of the gravel area and set up camp.
Other than the sculpure these are no facilities at this site.
There appears to be some possible campsites if you travel along the dirt road towards to the Lachlan River.

The campsite is located 6m south-west of Forbes. The location is shown in the map below. You may zoom out for a more general location.
What to Watch Out For at Road Kill Campground
The area is a little cramped.
I would be wary about leaving a van here while exploring the area. It is best used as a spot to rest for the night before continuing your journey.
Final Words
This is a very basic site. It is a good spot to spend a night while travelling to your destination.
Make sure that you check out the sculpture while you are here.
