Campground Layout and Features

Byron Bay Red Devils Camping is spread across two sides of the field and club buildings. It appears that the older side of the site is located behind the club buildings. We recommend to avoiding this area. It is a bit of a shanty town apparently put together by long-term residents. Some reports state that this area has power connections.

For people travelling through, we recommend the flat grassed area running along the side of the oval on the opposite side of Bangalow Road. There is enough space for about 10 sites. No sites are marked, and no power is available. Water is available from a tap on the oval boundary fence.

Toilets and showers are provided in the clubhouse. The facilities are basic but clean. Don’t expect a lot of privacy in the showers. A code is required to access the showers.

On arrival, select a spot and set up camp. The caretaker will visit you to collect the fee, which may be in the evening or in the morning. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

The site also provides a camp kitchen.

Limited rubbish and recycling facilities can be found at the camp kitchen.

The cost of a site is $30 per night for a couple. The maximum stay is three days.

What to Watch Out For at Byron Bay Red Devils Camping

As stated earlier, avoid the older section of this camping area unless you have no other options.

During our stay, most campers were young people in camper vans.

We did find an email address for the camping; however, it is not active, and the email we sent bounced.

Final Words

Other than the location, this is a mediocre facility. If you have something specific to do in Byron Bay, there are better options elsewhere.

Closeby Campgrounds

If you are travelling north Murwillumbah Showgrounds is a good option.

To the south of Byron Bay is Woody Head Campground. It is a lovely spot to spend some time relaxing.
