Shallow Inlet Campground is a private campground near Wilson’s Promontory National Park. The campground is next to the Shallow Inlet Marine and Coastal Park. It is a wonderful place to stay while exploring the area.
To stay at Shallow Inlet Campground, there is no requirement to be self-contained as toilets are provided.
Tents are permitted.
Pets are permitted with the usual requirements.

Campground Layout and Features
The campground has about 50 marked sites. They are mostly set in a heavily shaded area, which restricts the amount of solar power you can gather. There are some areas that are more open. It appears that these areas are largely taken by long-stayers.
The sites are fairly flat and sandy.
Drop toilets are provided. There is also a dump point, rubbish and recycling bins, and a book exchange.
Water is available to fill containers, but it is not allowed to fill tanks. The taps are push-button operated and stop flowing when released. There is no way of attaching a hose.
No power is available at this site.
On arrival, you must stop at the gate and check in. Once you have done so, you will be taken to your site.
Be aware that this is not a caravan park. You will pass a caravan park just before getting to this facility.
Shallow Inlet Campsite Location
Shallow Inlet Campground is located a 23km drive south of Foster. It is accessed by good-quality sealed roads to the turn-off. From there it is a 4km unsealed road. The map below shows the campground’s location. You can zoom out for a more general location.
What to Watch Out For at Shallow Inlet Campground
If you rely on solar you may struggle at this site for a longer stay than one night.
Keep in mind that this is not a caravan park. You will pass the caravan park just before entering this campground.
We had fairly weak phone reception here. It was strong on the nearby beach.
