Manuka Campground is located in the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area and is managed by the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service. It is a great place to stay to visit the Arthur River area and as a stop on the Tarkine Drive.

To stay at Manuka Campground, there is no requirement to be self-contained as toilets are provided.
Tents are permitted.

Campground Layout and Features
Manuka Campground has 59 marked sites of various sizes. Some sites are more level than others, and some are very uneven. Select a site that suits your needs.
As you drive into the site you will come across a large open area to the left (as shown in the photograph above). Benind this area is further camps amounst the shrubs. Driving further on the road you entered on there are many more sites. The open area is well grassed and open. The sites away from this area are amongst the bushes on black sand. These sites may be a bit dusty in windy conditions. However they are also enjoy a little protection from the wind.
The site has two newish toilet blocks. One is near the open area and the other along the track a little from the turnoff to the open area.
There is non-potable water available. It is not possible to fill caravan tanks. If you’re travelling the Tarkine way, arrive with full tanks.
No rubbish bins are provided, so you will need to take it with you.
The cost to stay at this site is $15 per night for up to two people. Extra adults are $5 per night. Children up to 17 are free. If you wish to stay one week, the fee is $55 for two people, with a fee of $20 for each additional adult.
Camping fees are to be paid at the PWS office in Author River. Before going to the office, take a note of your site number.
Manuka Campsite Location
Manuka Campground is a 1km drive north of Arthur River. It is accessed by good-quality sealed roads. The map below shows the campground’s location. You can zoom out for a more general location.
What to Watch Out For at Manuka Campground
We did not have any issues during our stay at this campground. Before selecting a site, have a good look around.
Be aware that this area can be very windy. We almost got blown away while exploring the coastline.

We stayed at this campground while on the Tarkine drive and found it a great place to stay while exploring the area. We recommend it.
