Campground Layout and Features
Neck Beach Camping Area has about 20 sites. The sites are best suited to smaller setups. If you have a larger caravan, you will need to arrive early to claim a suitable site.
The camping area is quite large and well shaded. For those requiring solar charging, this may present an issue. Sites are mostly on black sand. Many of the sites are sloped, and leveling may be an issue on some sites.
Drop toilets are provided at this site. Water is also available, but treatment is recommended before consumption. A tap is available to source water. The treads have been ground off the tap, so directly filling tanks is not possible. You are well advised if you arrive on Bruny Island with full water tanks.
No rubbish bins are provided at this campground. You must remove all your waste.
The fee to stay at this site is $10 per night. The fee can be paid by cash to be placed in an envelope and placed in a strong box. A machine (kiosk) is also provided for card payments. Our attempts at using the kiosk failed. From information we received elsewhere it was due to connection issues with the mobile network. Once those issues have been resolved it would be a fair assumption that the cash payment option will be stopped at some point.
Bookings are not available and sites are on a first-come, first-served basis.
